Staff Attorney
PrismHR is a nonprofit pro bono law firm dedicated to providing high-quality, free civil legal services to disadvantaged individuals in Broward County. They are seeking an experienced HR Attorney to provide strategic legal counsel on employment-related matters, ensuring compliance with laws and supporting a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
Provide legal guidance to leadership and HR on federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices
Review, draft, and update employment policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance
Coordinate with outside counsel on employment litigation and related matters
Recommend resolution strategies for employee disputes, complaints, and workplace investigations
Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and related documentation
Advise on disciplinary actions, terminations, and complex or sensitive employment matters
Conduct employment law training for HR staff and management
Monitor changes in employment laws and communicate relevant updates to leadership
Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR documentation as needed
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) and active Florida Bar license
5+ of experience as an Employment Attorney (corporate or business environment preferred)
Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and legal procedures
Proven negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Strategic mindset with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred
Spanish or Creole proficiency
