Project Structural Engineer

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Project Structural Engineer for a premier, mentorship-focused firm based in the Powder Springs / Atlanta, GA area. This role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of a project, including structural analysis, design, and site inspections while collaborating closely with architects and contractors.

Responsibilities

Perform complex structural calculations and designs across diverse building types using RISA and other industry-standard software
Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications in Revit, ensuring all designs meet high-quality standards
Act as a key liaison between architects, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless execution
Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy; ensure all materials and methods align with the engineering intent
Conduct site visits and structural inspections to monitor progress, verify design compliance, and solve real-world construction challenges
Maintain a deep working knowledge of and ensure adherence to IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and NDS building codes
Draft clear, professional engineering reports and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is REQUIRED
Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of relevant structural engineering experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
Proficiency in Revit, RISA, and Bluebeam is essential
Working knowledge of national building codes (AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.)
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on precision and safety
A team player who thrives in a mentorship-heavy environment
Confidence in client-facing settings and a professional demeanor
A commitment to ethical engineering practices and quality excellence

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, though candidates actively pursuing their PE will be considered
