Environmental Scientist I
WGI is a top consulting firm seeking an entry level Environmental Scientist to support their Environmental Services department. This role involves providing technical support for transportation projects and assisting with local, state, and federal regulatory permitting in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

Responsibilities
Assist with transportation projects by coordinating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, planners, and surveyors
Collect field data such as soil and groundwater sampling, tree surveys, wetland assessments, protected species surveys, and gopher tortoise relocation
Conducting benthic resource surveys (seagrasses and corals)
Analyze data, prepare graphics, write technical reports, and prepare environmental permit applications
Other responsibilites as assigned by the manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
Ability to identify Florida trees and wetland plants
Must be able to collect data in hot and difficult field conditions including remote and swampy places
Excellent technical writing skills and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visa
Preferred
Knowledge of threatened and endangered species that occur in Florida is a plus
Experience with GIS or AutoCAD is a plus
Knowledge of Florida and federal permitting rules is a plus
PADI or NAUI certifications preferred, but not required
