Responsibilities
Maintain timelines, ensure project cost targets are met, and interface with suppliers, customers, and internal departments
Proactively investigate new technology within the forging industry that would help achieve organizational goals
Participate in formal 8D process and help ensure corrective actions are effective
Involved in developing safety procedures, work instructions, and safety improvements throughout the facility
Establish specific objectives related to process improvements that reduce cost, improve reliability, reduce process variation, and improve quality
Participate in developing long-term plans related to profit growth and expansion of the company products and capabilities
Coordinate technical liaison services between the production department, maintenance, quality, design, and tooling related to newly developed techniques or practices related to process improvements
Monitor investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerance, specifications, and delivered condition or products
Work closely with the product design group on new products/redesigning existing products including tool design, and product design simulations
Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to help understand unplanned equipment downtime, and implement predictive maintenance solutions and performance optimization
Direct maintenance employees and outside contractors
Qualification
Required
Electrical Engineering Degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Electrical engineering: 1 year (Required)
Ability to Commute: Port Huron, MI 48060 (Required)
Preferred
Forging knowledge and automotive supply experience are desirable
