Senior Information Technology Project Manager
TriOptus is a statewide public sector technology organization seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead multiple enterprise-scale initiatives within a structured PMO environment. The role involves managing complex cross-functional projects, ensuring governance, and driving IT initiatives while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Adhere to and enforce project governance (methodology, gating, templates, reporting)
Build and manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths
Lead requirements elicitation and documentation with business and technical stakeholders
Identify resource needs, staff project teams, and coordinate cross-functional work
Lead/coordinate procurements (vendor products & implementation services) and funding requests
Manage scope, risks, issues, and change control with a bias toward MVP delivery
Conduct project meetings, maintain RAID logs, and provide status reporting via common PMO mechanisms
Track progress, adjust plans, escalate impediments to leadership, and drive timely decisions
Implement service/process improvements across portfolio, program, and project disciplines
Ensure quality standards and deliverable acceptance criteria are met
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
8+ years : Direct management of system integration projects
8+ years : Managing stakeholder expectations and priorities across business/IT
8+ years : Operating within a formal project governance structure (methodology, templates, reporting)
8+ years : Planning, managing, and tracking multiple major-impact projects in parallel
8+ years : Process development —interpreting concepts to document and formalize procedures
8+ years : Process & gap analysis experience
8+ years : Strong project management in cross-functional environments with changing priorities
6+ years : Working with business users to gather and document business requirements
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/activities simultaneously and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational, presentation, interpersonal, and team-building skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Demonstrated experience managing client expectations and implementing service improvements
Preferred
Public sector/state government PMO experience
Experience with enterprise platforms and statewide IT shared services
Familiarity with procurement in the public sector and funding approvals
PM certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, CSM) are a plus
