Responsibilities
Design data center white space and fiber network layouts, including rack elevations, pathways, containment strategies, and cable matrices
Develop and maintain detailed site documentation such as floor plans, fiber routing diagrams, and infrastructure drawings
Support new data center builds and expansions, as well as modifications within live, operational facilities
Collaborate with internal engineering teams, colocation providers, and vendors to ensure design requirements are met
Participate in the development and maintenance of global data center infrastructure standards
Review and evaluate technical submittals including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs
Support the creation of operational documentation including MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
Travel to data center sites as required for design reviews, engineering analysis, and project coordination
Qualification
Required
3+ years of professional experience working in data center or other critical infrastructure environments
Strong experience designing and documenting fiber and network infrastructure at the physical layer
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Visio for infrastructure design and documentation
Solid understanding of data center cabling best practices and methodologies
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and electrical one-lines
Familiarity with data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure concepts
Experience coordinating with vendors and external partners
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Proven problem-solving ability and comfort working independently in complex environments
Preferred
Exposure to hyperscale data center projects
Understanding of BMS / EPMS systems and data collection or trending
Experience supporting global standards or large portfolio rollouts
Willingness to travel (~25%) to support project delivery
