Responsibilities
Performs tasks for the credit analysis process
Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loans
Breaks down the balance sheet and income statement accounts; analyzes the results and compares the current financial results to the prior financial periods
Prepares reports to summarize analysis of borrowers’ financial condition and capacity to repay debt. Prepares loan request submissions for various Loan Committees or other approving authorities
Prepares projections on income, sales, expenses and net worth of the client with the credit report or for a request by the lender or management
Values collateral when necessary, reviews appraisals and assesses collateral coverage
Assigns Risk Ratings
Follows assigned portfolio or accounts for updated financial statements or other relevant information to assess borrower credit quality through the quarterly triage process
Assists loan officers in gathering information relevant to analyzing the borrower
Prepares reports on problem assets for the Criticized Asset Committee
Participates or assists in projects or tasks necessary for the Credit Administration function
Ensures that all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with prescribed lending policy
Achieves goals assigned to the Credit Analyst as part of the department’s annual operating plan
Adheres to the Credit Analysis department’s Service Level Agreement with the Commercial Services and Consumer Services business line
Partners with the lending staff in joint calling effort in support of new and existing relationships
Builds knowledge of commercial lending and banking regulations, procedures, and operations
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/ Economics or a related field of study with a minimum GPA of 3.0, or equivalent experience required
Ability to analyze financial statement data and distill conclusions is required
Must have a working knowledge of accounting and financial analysis techniques
Must have ability to use Microsoft Office programs and banking software
Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills are required, as well as solid communication and interpersonal relations skills
