Battery Algorithms & Controls Design Intern
RoboStruct Technologies is seeking a passionate and driven Battery Algorithms Intern to join their Engineering Research & Development team this summer. The intern will work on advancing battery management technologies and contribute to developing industry-leading battery solutions for passenger vehicles and energy products.
Responsibilities
Work with a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance cutting-edge battery management technologies
Contribute to industry-leading battery solutions for passenger vehicles and energy products
Analyze laboratory and fleet data to support development and quality validation of real-time battery control systems
Design and enhance advanced battery control algorithms to improve performance, safety, and user experience
Collaborate with teams across controls, battery cells, embedded software, systems engineering, and vehicle integration
Provide additional support to the Battery Software team as required
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of battery chemistries (LFP, NMC)
Understanding of battery control systems and algorithm development
Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) and EV powertrains
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++
Background in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields
Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD (proof of enrollment required)
Knowledge of electrochemistry, battery modeling, and vehicle control systems (motor, onboard charger, thermal systems)
