This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing engineering and facilities operations, ensuring the integrity and performance of the resort's infrastructure while enhancing the guest experience.

Responsibilities

Extensive experience managing multi-phase renovations and capital projects in operating hotels
Deep working knowledge of HVAC systems
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure
Fire-life safety systems
Water systems and general building infrastructure
Strong troubleshooting capability with hands-on technical credibility
Experience maintaining oceanfront/coastal properties, including salt-air corrosion prevention, exterior paint and building envelope preservation, and humidity and environmental wear mitigation
Oversight of pools, spas, water features, and outdoor amenities
Seasonal climate impact on infrastructure
Knowledge of CMMS platforms to support preventive maintenance and asset tracking
Conduct regular walk-throughs with Director of Spa, Director of F&B
Working familiarity with commercial kitchen systems and sanitation equipment
Close partnership with Rooms Division and Housekeeping on preventive maintenance programs, room readiness and 'Perfect Room' standards
Support special events, seasonal transitions, and emergency preparedness planning
Ensure engineering initiatives align with brand aesthetics and operational flow
Lead and develop a large engineering team (20+ preferred) in a campus-style environment
Provide mentorship, technical training, and operational guidance
Build a culture of accountability, safety, service standards, and pride in workmanship
Prepare the team to confidently support a luxury, guest-facing environment
Maintain morale while holding high performance expectations
Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for performance and cost control
Serve as point of contact for regulatory inspections, contractor relations, and environmental and safety compliance (OSHA/EPA knowledge)
Oversee departmental budgets and forecasting
Lead capital planning, life-cycle forecasting, and infrastructure upgrades
Present and justify improvements based on ROI, efficiency, and guest experience impact
Support energy management and sustainability initiatives relevant to coastal properties

Required
