Responsibilities
Develop and execute validation and verification test methods, protocols, and reports for system and component requirements under supervision
Design validation test cases including test methodology, setup, equipment, procedures, materials, and acceptance criteria
Perform functional validation testing of mechanical assemblies, electrical circuits, and integrated systems
Analyze validation data against predefined acceptance criteria and document results in test management systems (e.g., ALM)
Support product development activities including feasibility, characterization, pre-compliance, and change validation testing
Review and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to ensure validation coverage of requirements
Interpret medical device compliance standards and requirements, assess risk, and develop validation procedures accordingly
Execute hands-on testing in laboratory environments and external medical device test labs
Identify, document, and communicate defects, failures, and issues observed during validation activities
Support development and use of validation tools, fixtures, and test equipment
Perform troubleshooting, hands-on rework, and calibration of electromechanical systems
Maintain validation laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and inventory levels
Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, and Quality teams to improve validation effectiveness and test coverage
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
1+ years of experience in validation, verification, or test engineering
Knowledge of medical device standards and regulated development environments
Strong troubleshooting skills with understanding of root cause analysis techniques
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, force/pressure gauges, calipers, thermometers, flow meters, scales)
Experience creating clear and complete validation documentation (plans, protocols, reports)
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment
Preferred
Experience with system- and component-level electromechanical validation
