Manufacturing Engineer CO-OP
Hartzell Air Movement is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op for Fall 2026. The role involves supporting a full-time Manufacturing Engineer by applying engineering principles in a manufacturing environment and gaining hands-on experience in process development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to support manufacturing operations
Assist in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes by analyzing product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
Improve manufacturing efficiency by evaluating workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout
Support product and process quality by assisting with test methods, process capability studies, and manufacturing standards
Review production issues, participate in root cause analysis, and help implement effective solutions
Create, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and process flows
Design 3D models of tooling and fixtures to support production and new product development using CAD software
Coordinate with outside vendors, contractors, and the internal tool shop to source and build tooling and fixtures
Participate in and help implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant processes, safety, quality, and efficiency
Qualification
Required
Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Good organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
Willingness to learn and participate in continuous learning opportunities
Experience with CAD programs
Preferred
Solidworks knowledge is a plus
