Responsibilities

Quoting - Generate labor hour and material cost estimates; articulate cost drivers (labor, consumables, equipment usage) using historic data and standard rates. Submit quotes for program approval within defined deadlines
Test Definition - Identify required environmental tests and map them to the correct MIL STD / STANAG specifications leveraging the IHIS tool to retrieve standard clauses and revisions. Aligning test methods with UUT capabilities and equipment limits while documenting a test matrix in the test plan
Scheduling - Create realistic test schedules with program managers and balance overall lab workload. Populate and manage the master lab calendar while highlighting and communicating resource conflicts
JIRA Management - Ensure every lab request is entered, kept current, and closed in JIRA while attaching supporting documents (quotes, test plans)
Test Set up Planning - Define pre test environmental limits (thermal, vibration, shock, humidity, salt, altitude) and coordinate chamber, shaker, fixture, power, and cabling preparations
Equipment Maintenance - Initiate facilities work orders, oversee HVAC, and guarantee equipment calibration
Supplies & Vendor Management - Manage relationships with key vendors and process purchase requests
Program Specific Support - Provide environmental expertise for each active program. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, verification planning. Advise on requirement resolution and mitigation strategies
Continuous Improvement - Lead Lean/Six Sigma projects to improve lab throughput, data quality, and cost efficiency. Propose equipment upgrades, process refinements, workflow automations
Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer - Train Level 2/3 engineers on quoting, JIRA workflow, fixture design; ensure succession planning
