Seasonal Food & Beverage Intern

Responsibilities

Lead by example
Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times
Foster strong morale through teamwork and collaboration
Mentor and coach direct reports for growth opportunities
Assist in Food and Beverage operations in diverse capacities which include managing concessions, bars, restaurant service, or working directly with Senior Food and Beverage Leadership
Assist in management of Front House Food & Beverage employees, including staffing, training, and monitoring performance
Work in front line positions when required
Understand, endorse, teach and enforce the Canterbury Park mission, philosophy, policies and procedures
Maintain and safeguard the inventory of products, supplies and equipment
Maintain a positive team environment
Perform all other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma/GED OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved
Must be able to interact with guests, co-workers and vendors in a professional and courteous manner
Must be adaptable, versatile, and tactful in dealings with the public
Must have basic computer knowledge
Ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure
Must be able to pass Canterbury Park's pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history
Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license

Preferred

Pursuing or has acquired an Associate or Bachelor's degree in hospitality, hotel or tourism management or equivalent experience in a similar industry
Previous supervisory experience
Food & Beverage industry experience
Mature, responsible, dependable, and able to work independently, and as part of a team
