Lead UX Mobile Developer
Herbalife is seeking a Lead UX Mobile Developer to build and validate next-generation mobile experiences. This role focuses on transforming user needs and business hypotheses into testable mobile experiences through research, prototyping, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Work in high-ambiguity, early-stage problem spaces
Use research, prototyping, and experimentation to reduce uncertainty
Influence product direction through evidence and insight
Help transition validated concepts into scalable build systems and delivery teams
Lead mobile-specific discovery efforts to understand unmet user needs, behaviors, and moments of friction
Reframe product questions into user-centered problem statements and hypotheses
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, usability testing, analytics) with a bias toward learning speed
Identify assumptions embedded in requirements and challenge them with evidence
Design and test low- and high-fidelity prototypes to validate desirability, usability, and comprehension
Partner with engineering and product to define experiments, pilots, and A/B tests
Instrument designs with measurable signals to assess success or failure
Rapidly iterate or stop concepts based on learning outcomes
Design mobile-first interaction models optimized for touch, context, and behavior, not just screens
Define information architecture, navigation patterns, and interaction flows for iOS and Android
Apply and selectively bend platform guidelines (HIG, Material) when innovation requires it
Ensure accessibility and inclusive design principles are embedded from the start
Connect individual UX decisions to end-to-end journeys and ecosystem experiences
Influence mobile design systems to support both experimentation and scale
Balance near-term discovery needs with long-term consistency and maintainability
Identify experience patterns that can become reusable platform capabilities
Facilitate design thinking and co-creation workshops with cross-functional teams
Partner deeply with Mobile Innovation Engineers to explore feasibility and constraints early
Communicate insights and build rationale clearly to senior collaborators
Influence roadmap direction through prototypes, evidence, and user insight
Help resolve when experiences are ready to transition from exploration to delivery
Document validated patterns, principles, and findings for handoff to scale teams
Support production teams to preserve experience intent during implementation
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive experience in UX build with significant focus on mobile applications; experience with multiple projects or engagements preferred
Validated work across early-stage discovery and scaled products preferred
Mobile UX strategy and interaction build
User research methodologies (qualitative & quantitative) and usability testing
Mobile interaction build, information architecture, and journey mapping
Deep knowledge of iOS and Android UX guidelines (Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design)
Prototyping and wireframing tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
Confirmed comfort working with incomplete or evolving problem definitions
Strong problem-framing and analytical thinking
Experience crafting for experimentation, not just delivery
Proficiency in interpreting insight into actionable build decisions
Preference for learning, iteration, and stopping weak ideas early
Proven track record of crafting successful mobile applications with strong user engagement metrics
Deep knowledge of mobile user behavior, contexts, and constraints
Expertise in mobile-specific UX patterns, including gesture building, touch targets, and responsive layouts
Strong collaborator management and presentation abilities
Ability to translate complex user insights into clear, actionable build recommendations
Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Building (Interaction, Graphic, Industrial), Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or an equivalent area
Preferred: Master's degree in HCI, Interaction Build, or an equivalent area; portfolio demonstrating innovation impact across mobile experiences
Certifications: UX certifications (Nielsen Norman Group, Interaction Design Foundation), Mobile Design certifications, Design Thinking certifications are valuable
Equivalent Experience: Exceptional portfolio demonstrating 5+ Exceptional portfolios demonstrating measurable user and business impact may substitute for formal education
Preferred
Experience with mobile analytics tools (Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude) and experimentation platforms
Familiarity with service design and omnichannel journeys
Exposure to emerging interaction models (user experience improved by AI, voice, sensors, AR)
Contributions to design systems, pattern libraries, or experimental labs
Knowledge of accessibility standards and user-centered building principles for mobile (WCAG, ADA)
Understanding of mobile development processes and technical constraints and tradeoffs
Experience with conversational UI and voice interfaces
Familiarity with emerging mobile technologies (AR/VR, wearables, foldables)
