Human Resources Business Partner - Employee Relations

NEOGOV is seeking to hire two Human Resources Business Partners - Employee Relations to support offices and departments within Boulder County. The HRBP will perform complex human resources duties, provide coaching assistance, and ensure a positive workplace culture while working closely with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Provide coaching assistance, conflict management guidance, disciplinary recommendations, and policy interpretation to all employees
Educate employees on employee relations policies and procedures
Review, edit, and ensure the accuracy of disciplinary documents
Work with the County Attorney's Office and HR Director on employment-related legal matters
Monitor and address workplace culture and climate, encouraging supervisors and managers to create positive and inclusive environments
Facilitate training on performance management and employee relations
Conduct business process analysis and needs assessments to enhance efficiency
Collect and analyze data on employee relations issues to identify trends and develop improvement strategies

Required

6 (six) years of combined education and experience in human resources or related field
2 years of human resources employee relations experience
Strong working knowledge of human resources principles and employee relations practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity, documentation, and respect
Strong conflict resolution, de-escalation, and mediation skills
Demonstrated emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive issues
Experience working across lines of difference with cultural humility and a racial equity lens
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Analytical and strategic thinking skills to interpret data and inform decisions
Strong initiative, adaptability, and continuous improvement mindset
Experience conducting or supporting impartial workplace investigations
Demonstrated history of promoting and contributing to a positive workplace culture, especially within diverse teams
Must pass conditional post offer background check
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish
SHRM or HRCI Certification
HRIS experience
Experience working in a unionized or government setting
Experience in labor relations
Knowledge of employment and labor laws applicable to public sector environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
Experience supporting a hybrid work environment
