Responsibilities

The Office Technician (T) works under the general direction and supervision of the assigned area Supervisor/Manager
The Office Technician (T) is the clerical support for Centinela State Prison designated area assigned to work

Qualification

Required

Ability to perform difficult clerical work, including ability to spell correctly
Ability to use good English
Ability to make arithmetical computations
Ability to operate various office machines
Ability to follow oral and written directions
Ability to evaluate situations accurately and take effective action
Ability to read and write English at a level required for successful job performance
Ability to make clear and comprehensive reports and keep difficult records
Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public
Ability to apply specific laws, rules and office policies and procedures
Ability to prepare correspondence independently utilizing a wide knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and spelling
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to provide functional guidance
Ability to type at a speed of not less than 40 words per minute from ordinary manuscript or printed or typewritten material
Possession of a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired

Preferred
