Responsibilities

Provide oversight and direct supervision and delegation to staff advancing policy as determined by the Policy Director, as well as task forces, hotlines, etc. mandated by the legislature
Develop, lead, and execute policy initiatives including reports, public education materials, potential legislation, resource proposals, grant applications, etc. relating to housing, labor, and other economic justice issues, in close coordination with, and at the direction of, the Policy Director or Deputy Policy Director
Coordinate internal and external stakeholder meetings to advance policy initiatives and maintain meaningful community engagement, by building strong relationships internally and with external stakeholders
Engage with Congressional offices in Washington state to advance the AGO's policy priorities
In collaboration with the Policy Director, create and manage internal Policy Division protocols for engaging on state and federal legislation. Draft bill analyses on civil issues as needed

Required

Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in public policy, law, government, economics, or related field
Five or more years of relevant experience, to include at least two years of supervision experience
Providing strong leadership and supervision over multiple employees
Policy work that includes economic justice, housing, workers' rights experience. Familiarity with AI and tech privacy issues, environmental issues, and/or voting rights is a bonus
Engaging in and understanding the legislative process in Washington State
