Responsibilities
Assist in evolving the Outside Plant (OSP) engineering and construction GIS processes to include new tools and methods, as well as the corresponding processes and standards surrounding these record systems as they impact other business units and teams
Develop a subject-matter-expert skillset to support GIS related activities for engineering and construction teams in Network Services
Assist in the development, improvement and documentation of engineering and construction GIS-related processes
First level of escalated technical issues from Network Service’s engineering and construction teams including determination of issue routing if unable to resolve concern themselves
Provides insight into GIS improvements to gain efficiencies in the engineering and construction workflow
Coordinate and provide GIS training for Network Service engineering and construction resources both internal and external to TDS
Provide support and assistance to Network Service engineering and construction resource activities before and after rollout of GIS enhancements
Execute data integrity analysis including updating GIS fields and identifying root cause of data integrity cause
Provide monthly and on-going reporting for Network Services including working with Network Service Leaders to develop engineering and construction reporting metrics at various levels of leadership needs
Qualification
Required
Associates degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years of professional work experience
3+ years' of experience in Voice, Data, or Video networking
Preferred
Strong, proven analytical skills
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with limited guidance and minimal supervision
Proficiency in personal computer applications, with advanced-to-expert knowledge of MS Excel and a strong comprehension of Power Point and Word functionalities
Comfortable, professional, and economic in communications involving complex GIS concepts to all levels of employees, including those at an executive level
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure, maintain a strong attention to detail, and meet or exceed expectations within tight deadlines
Knowledge of ESRI including tool customization, troubleshooting, map creation, symbology edits, along with bulk update attributes
Proven written and oral communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proven process improvement and documentation of step-by-step processes skills
Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of tools like Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx
Organized, self-motivated, detail orientated, analytical, able to work with minimal supervision
A team player who can work through challenges
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a cooperative and courteous manner with diverse work groups
