Responsibilities

Develop fluidic design, mechanical design, and system packaging for ETO to existing single wafer processing systems in the field
Develop subassemblies and components for wet processing technologies
Provide mechanical engineering expertise, while focusing on design quality, reliability, effective cost, and ease installations to be done in the field
Create work instructions for field installation upgrades
Define mechanical design specifications based on customer requirements and company capabilities
Ensure that manufacturing processes are compliant with standard design practices and safety codes; ensure appropriate tests are in place to produce reliable products in a repeatable manner
Perform analytical studies and theoretical calculations, requiring a variety of engineering knowledge, including analysis of vessels, heat transfer, material structural analysis, static and dynamic, fluids, motion mechanisms
Prepare presentations and present design concepts, ideas, and test results to internal and external customers
Provide expertise in mechanical engineering while participating in design reviews
Support procurement efforts in correlation with overall project deadlines
Provide “hands-on” assistance and support to the manufacturing team
Create and release engineering documentation through the ECO process
Support Program Management with project flow through the Product Life Cycle (PLC) Phase gates
Understand and adhere to various industry standards

Required

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience designing or manufacturing capital equipment, subassemblies, and components, or an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering with no experience is required
Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD systems is required
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team, able to take initiative, own full projects, and/or lead a small project team
Experience with finite element analysis, both structural and thermal
Experience with SAP or similar PLM system
General knowledge of electrical and software engineering disciplines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of technological complexity
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including specification development; ability to make technical presentations and interface with all levels of management, suppliers, and customers
Must be hands-on with devices, prototyping, and troubleshooting
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to customer sites and/or supplier facilities on an as-needed basis

Preferred

MS degree preferred
Knowledge of industrial control systems, sensors, automation, robotics, instrumentation, motion control, motor selection, encoders, electronic packaging, SEMI regulatory standards is a plus
Project management experience is a plus
