The role involves collaborating with Industrial Designers and product development specialists to create detailed 3D CAD models, prototype, and iterate mechanical designs.

Responsibilities
Utilize creative thinking and dynamic problem solving to assist in delivering innovative and unique solutions
Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings for prototyping and production under the guidance of senior engineering staff
Prototype, test, and iterate mechanical designs and mechanisms using rapid prototyping tools (3D printing, etc.) and hands-on assembly
Support the review of supplier DFM (Design for Manufacturing) to ensure products are suitable for production
Collaborate closely with Industrial Design, quality, and cross-functional teams
Help analyze potential product failures by executing test plans, procedures, and conducting product testing
Iterate designs for reliability and durability based on findings
Learn to evaluate materials and manufacturing processes for cost, quality, and performance trade-offs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
0–2 years of mechanical design experience (internship experience is highly valued)
Foundational knowledge of consumer product engineering and a desire to work on multidisciplinary teams
A solid understanding of engineering fundamentals (heat transfer, mechanics of materials)
Basic exposure to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Proficiency in Solidworks; ability to create parts and assemblies
Eagerness to learn the full product lifecycle from design through launch
Familiarity with plastic injection molded parts
Ability to follow test plans and generate clear test reports
Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment, hand tools, or hobbyist fabrication
Preferred
Interest in developing small countertop kitchen appliances and/or consumer electronics
Experience communicating with overseas manufacturing or vendors
Previous internship experience in the housewares or consumer goods industry
