SOT Experiential Learning Support Specialist - Occupational Therapy Denton

Responsibilities
Submits and maintains all experiential learning contracts/agreements for the SOT across all three campuses to be sure they are current, accurate, and properly signed
Stays current on policies and procedures and interprets each concerning the School of Occupational Therapy
Examines correspondence, determines work priorities and schedules, and supervises student workers in the Denton SOT
Prepares memoranda to communicate with students, experiential learning site contacts, TWU General Counsel contacts for accuracy and proofreads out-going correspondence
Compiles or supervises the gathering of information for student fieldwork admission, progression, retention and completion
Answers correspondence as assigned without constant need to consult the administrator
Maintains confidential records and files
Coordinates work with other campus departments, and with the SOT in Dallas and Houston as needed
Works collaboratively with the Coordinator of Academic Program Support, Coordinator-SOT Experiential Learning Support, Academic Fieldwork coordinator, Capstone Coordinator, Faculty Fieldwork Associates, and support staff in Dallas and Houston on departmental and institutional matters pertaining to experiential learning, and supplying information from a variety of sources
Covers for the Coordinator-SOT Experiential Learning Support on a short term basis as needed
Assists with the efficient running of the OT Denton office with general office support and coverage
Assists with OT DEN student and faculty events as needed
Performs other duties as requested
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Three years of progressive responsibilities in clerical duties, preferably with experience in database management, event coordination, and inventory management
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position
Working knowledge of office practices and methods
Ability to coordinate work with other employees, providing direct instruction or supervision as assigned
Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing
Ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
