Child Development Center (CDC) Coach - Minneapolis
Jeremiah Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping single mothers achieve economic mobility through education and support services. The Child Development Center (CDC) Coach is responsible for enhancing the child development experience, supporting teachers, and ensuring high-quality instructional practices while also playing a key role in operations and leadership during the absence of the CDC Director.
Responsibilities
Ensures ratios are maintained and teachers get adequate time for required breaks and planning time
In conjunction with CDC Director, supports communication plan in the event of teacher absences and serves as substitute when needed
When not substituting, visits classrooms on a daily basis to provide feedback to teaching teams to improve implementation of high-quality, and developmentally appropriate teaching practices
When not substituting, partners with teaching teams inside classrooms to model high-quality instruction and co-teach in alignment with the work the CDC Director is implementing
When fully staffed, leads weekly lesson planning meetings with all teaching teams to ensure implementation of curriculum, authentic assessment, and collaborate on individualizing instruction for all children
If not fully staffed, provide weekly feedback on lesson plans to ensure implementation of curriculum, authentic assessment, and collaborate on individualizing instruction for all children
Supports teachers with the use of authentic assessment systems (Teaching Strategies GOLD), and interpretation of data and use of assessment data in planning
Ensures instructional resources such as websites, readings, unit plans, instructional materials, assessment tools or other teaching aids are available and shared with families to extend learning beyond the classroom
Assists and supports operational work that’s led by CDC Director
In the absence of CDC Director, assists Executive Director in licensure processes and completion of compliance-related paperwork
Collaborates with CDC director on teaching teams’ identified goals by modeling high-quality teaching practices during daily visits, and supporting teachers as needed
Informs teaching teams’ professional development needs based on observations and children’s authentic assessment data
Leads portions of professional development days and follows up with teachers on lessons and applications
Lead new teacher onboarding/orientation in conjunction with Center Director
Lead required annual in-service training tracking and coordination
Supports teachers in planning and preparing materials for parent-teacher conferences

Qualification
Required
Associate's degree (bachelor's degree preferred) required with focus in early childhood education, human services, social work, or closely related field preferred
Track record of strong achievement with young children (birth-to-five)
Being qualified as a “Lead Teacher” in alignment with local regulations
Adaptable and flexible to fill in across classrooms and CDC unique situations
Demonstrable experiences in problem-solving on their feet or under pressure
Excellent culturally competent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and build trusting relationships
