Engineering Technician VI
Amentum is involved in launching people to the Moon and Mars, seeking candidates for their Ground Support Technical Operations team at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The Engineering Technician VI will support the Artemis program, overseeing day-to-day operations and leading a team of technicians in ground support system testing and validation.

Responsibilities
Perform the day to day operations of the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) group supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Artemis program
Support Launch Vehicle Processing primarily serving within the leadership position as GSTO Lead Technician
Follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawings and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols
Attend the daily shift tag-up meetings and obtain the work scheduled for GSTO
Conduct/attend crew assignment meetings and assign technicians to scheduled task based on the certifications and experience required
Collect work status throughout the shift and report the status to the Area Integrators, COMET Department Manager and Flow Management
Serve as TTL for tasks as needed and mentor technicians to create a safe, well balanced and experienced team
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical training in the applicable area of expertise
Required certifications
20 years of related experience and technical training and certification as required across all areas of industry accepted disciplines for the technical support to aerospace systems and equipment
Directly related experience and working knowledge of Testing and Validation of ground support systems primarily on the Mobile Launcher
Mechanical and/or electrical background in the ground support equipment (GSE) field
Ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawings and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols
Excellent communication skills
Experience in Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
Working knowledge of production software Solumina and MAXIMO
Ability to pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain a security clearance
Ability to support shift work, weekends and overtime when required
Ability to support overtime requested even if requested on short notice
Ability to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting
Ability to climb ladders and platforms
Ability to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment
Ability to work in tight confined space areas
Ability to travel to support position requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver's license
Must pass a federal background investigation
Must comply with all 'drug free workplace' requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company
