CAO Administrative Manager

Responsibilities
Responsible for managing all administrative operations of CalIT2, a Special Research Program at UC Irvine
Oversees operations and manages professional staff, across all functions of Calit2, including contracts and grants, budgetary financial management, human resources, IT, facilities, events and communications, educational and training programs
Assumes accountability for decisions made by subordinates
Performs long and short-term planning for function
Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules
Works closely with the CalIT2 Director so as to achieve Calit2 goals in basic and applied research, workforce training and outreach, and partnerships with industry and the innovation ecosystem, and to serve the mission of Cal ISIs
Qualification
Required
Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and / or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy
Solid knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence / persuade all levels of staff, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with a variety of people at all organizational levels within and outside the UCI/CALIT2
Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions
Solid organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll
Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
5-10 years of related experience
