Responsibilities

Interns will be working with our Simulation and Visualization Research Center
This internship will provide an opportunity to work with a technical team of experienced software developers
Interns will work as members of a small research team
They will use Python based systems to simulate multi-agent systems, run experiments with the simulators, and help prepare research papers on the results

Required

Pursuing degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related with a 3.3 GPA and at least one semester left in school
US Citizen
Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation and follow through
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Software Development Experience
Can implement complex algorithms
Is familiar with version control software
Comfortable working in an Agile development environment
Python Programming Experience
Is familiar with the virtual environments and pip
Expertise in core scientific python libraries (e.g. numpy, pandas, and scipy)
Can effectively utilize and extend existing python code

Preferred

Experience in programming visuals, such as graphs or games
Experience in using JavaScript for creating dynamic browser-based analytic visuals
Experience working in Unix environment (e.g. bash, zsh)
Experience with multi-threaded programs
Experience with geospatial software (e.g. CesiumJS, Google Earth)
Knowledge or research experience in multi-agent systems, combinatorial optimization, or simulation
