Systems Administrator

Serco Inc. is hiring for a Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of a stand-alone infrastructure CCTV. The role includes managing workstations and servers, troubleshooting systems, and providing end-user support.

Responsibilities

Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot all stand-alone workstations and servers, and CCTV equipment
Diagnose hardware/software problems and identify defective components
Troubleshoot new and existing CCTV systems and IP Devices such as IP Cameras, Network Video Recorders, Analytics, and other hardware devices via Service calls
Knowledge of backup maintenance including daily backup operations to ensure all required file systems and data are successfully backed up on the appropriate device
Perform day-to-day maintenance; investigate and resolve incidents and/or change tickets for the environment
Create from scratch or update existing documentation for processes, procedures, or references
Maintain logs related to system functions as well as maintenance and repair records
Interpret technical information. Discuss the information with others including such information with concepts or terminology with which many people may be unfamiliar
Provide advice or recommend a course of action to leadership on resolving technical problems or improving the technology infrastructure
Stay current with developments in the systems administration discipline and with relevant technological advancements
Maintain a highly diverse and fast-paced workload that may include a variety of tasks, efforts, or projects
Provide effective and efficient system support of the closed lab environment and perform patches, upgrades, and repairs in preparation of deploying baseline images to systems in the field
Occasional travel, may be required

Required

US Citizenship is required
Bachelor's Degree and technical experience such as computer science and 2 years of systems administration experience
High School Diploma and 4 years of systems administrator experience
Experience with Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows server and desktop operating systems
Proven experience working with NAS and SAN devices such as Synology storage arrays
Proven experience working with the TCP/IP stack and related services
Proven experience working with DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing schemes
Comprehensive knowledge of server hardware and cabling
Strong customer service and communication skills
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred

CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+
Experience administering PostgreSQL
Experience with CCTV systems and IP Cameras
