Responsibilities

Candidate will be responsible for set-up and operation of conventional machine shop equipment, specifically mills, lathes, and grinding equipment to produce precision parts per drawing and/or written technical specifications
Candidate will be working under the direct supervision of a senior Machinist

Required

Be a student who is enrolled in high school or a vocational school machining program and will be enrolled through Fall 2026
Interest in STEM, manufacturing, and/or machining
Be available to work part-time (up to 25 hours a week) through August 2026, with possibility to extend into school year
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred

Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Familiar will standard machine shop equipment, lathes, mills, drill press, standard hand tools
Familiarity with blueprints, sketches, GD&T, and other engineering specifications
Working knowledge of shop floor mathematics and measuring tools/equipment
Ability to follow assigned work instructions or documentation
Experience with EDM equipment is a plus
Candidate must have a willingness to learn and possess a positive teamworking attitude
Excellent communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work safely and concern for safety of others
