Full Stack Developer for GRC (Temporary)

The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is seeking a highly skilled IT Automation & GRC Engineer for a temporary position. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions for Governance, Risk, and Compliance activities, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual overhead.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automation solutions for GRC processes including compliance monitoring, risk assessments, audit workflows, and policy management
Build custom integrations between open-source GRC platforms (i.e. CISO Assistant), IT service management tools, and enterprise systems using APIs (i.e. KnowBe4, Qualys)
Develop web-based dashboards and interfaces for compliance reporting, risk visualization, and operational metrics
Customize and extend open-source GRC and IT management tools to meet organizational requirements
Create automated workflows for IT processes such as user provisioning, access reviews, incident response, and change management
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices (such as OWASP Top 10)
Collaborate with security, compliance, and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements
Enhance existing automation frameworks and tools
Document automated processes, workflows, and technical configurations

Required

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of experience in IT automation, DevOps, or software development
Demonstrated experience building automation solutions for business processes
Proficiency in modern programming languages
Experience with web development frameworks
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and API integration patterns
Experience customizing open-source software and contributing to open-source projects
Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of database technologies
Understanding of compliance frameworks and controls
Experience with GRC platforms or ITSM tools
Knowledge of IT security principles and access management concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a temporary assignment
