Start in 2026 SummerVistra Corp. is a global leader in energy, and they are seeking an IT Audit Intern to assist in identifying and evaluating risks through assigned projects. The intern will execute work programs to assess the effectiveness of IT General Controls and report results to leaders across the company.

Responsibilities
Assist the department in identifying and evaluating risk through assigned projects, executing work programs to determine the effectiveness of IT General Controls, and reporting the results to leaders throughout the company
These efforts can include logical/physical access, change management, and IT operations
Develop skills to enhance understanding of risks and the implications to the broader organization through:
Collecting and analyzing data and information effectively
Preparing and maintaining audit work papers pertinent to the audit’s scope and objectives
Comprehending the meaning of test results as they relate to internal control strengths and weaknesses
Adapting to and using technology to improve the effectiveness of assignments, increase efficiencies, and quickly complete work objectives
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's or Master's Degree program with a major in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Computer Science, or Accounting with an emphasis in Internal Audit
Ability to communicate in a tactful and courteous manner to convey a mature, common-sense approach and attitude
Possess general PC skills and be able to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); advanced capabilities (i.e. Pivot Tables, complex data analysis, and graphics production)
Preferred
Experience with auditing systems is a plus
Experience with data analytics/data visualization is a plus
Familiarity with major industry frameworks (IIA IPPF, Cobit, NIST 800, ITIL, etc.)
