R&D Staff Engineer, Equipment Development

This role involves leading the development and qualification of medical device assembly lines, collaborating with various teams, and applying engineering principles to resolve technical challenges.

Responsibilities
Lead the development and qualification efforts of medical device technologies assembly lines to meet cost, quality and performance targets
Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to drive product and process solutions to market
Provide technical support to drive development, qualification and stabilization execution
Apply Design for Manufacturing & Assembly techniques, Lean Six Sigma process knowledge, and the Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) tools to drive product design to its most efficient outcome
Apply engineering principles to resolve technical challenges, and leverage project management practices to drive a complex project portfolio
Write Protocols and Completion Reports in compliance with FDA regulations that withstand audit scrutiny
Develop and maintain manufacturing line including troubleshooting and solving critical issues to optimize scrap and efficiency
Leverage mechanical skills related to working with machine shops
Use CAD (Computer Aided Design) to create drawings and relate ideas to the machine shop for manufacturing of production parts
Leverage PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) related to the qualification and validation of software systems, to troubleshoot and document issues for software fixes
Qualify Vision Systems used in manufacturing, and implement best practices to ensure the Vision Systems work correctly and reliably
Travel internationally to provide assembly and test equipment development, startup, and launch support outside the US (primarily Mexico)
Train on-site engineers, technicians, and operators on equipment function and troubleshooting
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Industrial), Control Systems and Software, or related field
7 years of experience in the job offered or in a R&D Staff Engineer, Equipment Development-related occupation

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
