Responsibilities
Partnering with business and product stakeholders to solve challenging business problems and identify trends and opportunities
Applying your expertise in comparative data analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and provide actionable insights
Demonstrating proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from relational databases, including experience with Hive and Google BigQuery
Demonstrating proficiency in Excel through the mastery of common functions, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques for analysis and reporting
Defining and evaluating key performance metrics for accuracy to customer expectations and
Identifying new levers to help improve key financial data insights, understanding root causes for change in metrics
Conducting exploratory data analysis including hypothesis testing, statistical inference and statistical analysis
Collaborating with data stewards and data engineering team to gather and process the right information from various sources
Working effectively cross-functionally and to communicate data and insights to non-tech leadership team
Working alongside the Account Management and Business Development teams to drive client retention and adoption
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field
2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field
Expertise in comparative data analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data
Proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from relational databases, including experience with Hive and Google BigQuery
Proficiency in Excel through the mastery of common functions, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques for analysis and reporting
Defining and evaluating key performance metrics for accuracy to customer expectations
Identifying new levers to help improve key financial data insights, understanding root causes for change in metrics
Conducting exploratory data analysis including hypothesis testing, statistical inference and statistical analysis

Preferred
Experience in the retail industry or accounting, finance, transportation, logistics sectors
Strong exploratory data analysis skills and ability to make analytical, data driven recommendations and solutions
Experience with Walmart Merchandising applications such as Scintilla, Nova, Merch 1, Supplier 1
Basic experience with Python, including using libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data analysis and automation tasks
Experience with processing multi-dimensional data on cloud platforms (Preferably Google Big query and Hive)
Compelling, persuasive oral and written communication skills and can build strong cross-functional relationships
Comfortable with shifting priorities in fast moving environment
Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Related industry experience (for example, retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce)
Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (for example, SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau)
