Responsibilities
Participate in sprint ceremonies and lead technical standups
Collaborate closely with product to define tickets with clear technical details
Own and review PRs daily, with a strong focus on code quality and best practices
Lead by example—mentoring developers and setting technical standards
Work on modernizing the Android codebase (Jetpack Compose, architecture, testing)
Plan and execute migrations, including:
Moving toward a single-binary app in Google Play
Migrating from APK to AAB
Track production data and user journeys to identify pain points and drive improvements
Partner with backend teams to unblock issues and validate end-to-end flows
Contribute to or validate a JavaScript POC for native app use cases
Support release planning (ownership of delivery, not release execution itself)
Qualification
Required
6+ years of Android development experience, including time in a lead role
Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin
Jetpack Compose (must-have)
Solid understanding of MVVM architecture and dependency injection
Experience modernizing legacy Android codebases
Strong focus on unit testing and improving test coverage
Comfortable reviewing, refactoring, and defining clean, maintainable code
Exposure to payment methods / payment flows is a plus
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions
Familiarity with Android build and distribution workflows
Experience migrating from APK to AAB
Understanding assigned vs universal builds
Reducing app size and improving delivery
Ability to replace or improve manual build/release processes with CI/CD-driven workflows
Act as a technical lead, not just an individual contributor
Mentor and guide engineers on best practices and modern Android development
Own technical decision-making and raise code quality across the team
Comfortable handling most aspects of the work independently
Strong communication with product, backend, and stakeholders
