Responsibilities
Architect & Execute: Lead the development of enterprise applications using a modern stack: Node.js (TypeScript), NestJS, and Nuxt.js (Vue 3)
Engineered for Scale: Own the lifecycle of containerized services on Kubernetes , ensuring reliability through Helm, ArgoCD, and GitOps methodologies
Quality Autonomy: Define and enforce rigorous standards using Jest/Vitest for unit testing and Playwright for E2E, maintaining a high-coverage CI/CD pipeline
Observability & Security: Implement OWASP best practices and instrument systems with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and structured logging to ensure 24/7 system health
Technical Mentorship: Elevate the engineering culture through thoughtful code reviews, architectural contributions, and a commitment to WCAG accessibility
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be based in the Greater Chicago Area and commit to a hybrid schedule (2 days/week on-site)
All applicants must possess unrestricted work authorization in the United States
6+ years in production-grade software engineering
At least 3 years dedicated to Node.js/TypeScript
2+ years with NestJS
Deep expertise in Nuxt.js 3 (Vue 3), Composition API, and modern UI frameworks like Tailwind or Vuetify
Advanced fluency in PostgreSQL, database design, and query optimization
Familiarity with Redis for caching
Proven experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, and automated builds for web and mobile (PWA/Capacitor)
A 'Get Stuff Done' (GSD) attitude combined with the ability to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions
