Summer Intern - Software Engineering
HARMAN International is a global leader in connected technologies for automotive, consumer, and enterprise markets. The Software Engineering intern will work alongside experienced engineers to develop audio systems and integrated technology platforms, gaining hands-on experience in design experiments and proof of concepts while assisting in various engineering tasks.

Responsibilities
Learn the new HARMAN technologies, features, and perform experiments
Discuss and share results with the Senior Engineers, Field Application Engineers, and Architects
Analyze data for performance metrics and anomalies
Learn about the overall audio software and hardware interactions within systems developed by HARMAN as well as how they interact with other components in the vehicle
Assist engineers in issue investigation and triage, collecting, analyzing issues, and creating tickets to help track and narrow down the root cause
Support in new pursuits through material preparations
Help in documenting the products and their design and architecture
Supporting customers with the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of third-party and Harman proprietary audio processing algorithms
Supporting system architects and other members of SOPE team to increase team efficiency
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program or higher in software engineering, or a related field
Must have some C or C++ programming knowledge
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program or higher at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan
Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Must provide full work availability from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026 and be able to work 40 hours per week
Preferred
Interest in Audio technology is preferred
If you have knowledge of Multimedia framework
If you have experience in music technology
DSP (Digital Audio Process) experience is preferred
