Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace

Responsibilities
Analyzes and improves manufacturing processes and methods in order to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase efficiency
Identifies requirements by conducting contract reviews; evaluates customer purchase orders, drawings and supplemental documentation and creates manufacturing plans based on information gathered from direct flow down and peripheral specifications
Creates manufacturing documentation, such as travelers, sketches, technique sheets and all supporting documentation needed throughout the production process
Evaluates and approves drawings, routings, specs and other documents
Serves as Technical Facilitator for new product introduction (NPI); collaborates to establish manufacturing plans, establishes technical goals, supports manufacturing, ensures quality, evaluates technology, and adheres to agreed delivery deadlines
Assesses capability and gathers data for appropriate manufacturing methods
Carries out corrective and preventative action internally or by customers and industry mandates
Manages projects with ability to schedule, assemble, coordinate, manage and drive progress
Communicates customer requirements and manufacturing intent with the entire organization
Exhibits and utilizes a thorough knowledge of modern manufacturing methods such as: turning, milling, multiple axis machining, gear/spline machining, grinding, honing, special processes and each discipline’s capabilities
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required

Minimum 5 years experience in an engineering role
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Other STEM degrees will be considered
Knowledge of engineering practices, manufacturing processes, machining methods and techniques, and inspection techniques
Understanding of AS9100 and ISO-9000 requirements and standards
Knowledge of root cause and corrective action techniques
Ability to compose technical documents and effectively convey technical information
Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings and other work instructions
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers and all levels of an organization
Strong planning, project management, and organizational skills
Good problem solving and decision-making abilities
Preferred
Experience in a CNC, manufacturing, and/or aerospace environment preferred
Manufacturing engineering: 5 years (Preferred)
aerospace: 1 year (Preferred)
