Residential Development Strategy Analyst
Homebound is on a mission to make it possible for anyone, anywhere, to build a home using technology. The Residential Development Strategy Analyst will support Homebound’s national home product development, architecture, and market strategy efforts, working closely with senior leadership to translate product and architectural strategy into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities
Support research efforts for new and existing Homebound markets across multiple U.S. region:
Analyze performance data from previously built homes (pricing, absorption, revenue, etc.) to evaluate how past architectural, programmatic, and specification decisions have performed. Synthesize these insights with current market and design trends to inform product refreshes, specification updates, and the introduction of new home plans, elevations, and product offerings within active markets
Support product development after a strategic decision has been made to enter a new market, using defined focus geographies. Conduct deep-dive analysis of target zip codes to identify architectural and design trends, competitive home programs, as well as spec level analysis, and translate that work into a clear product hypothesis and recommendation for home plans, elevations, and specifications
Collect, organize, and analyze market data including: Comparable communities and homes; Floor plans, square footage, bed/bath mixes, pricing, and absorption; Architectural styles, exterior compositions, and design trends; Specification levels, features, and construction approaches used by competitors
This role is highly detail-oriented and execution-focused, centered on defining exactly what Homebound is offering in each market, the rationale behind those decisions, and how those offerings can be delivered consistently and cost-effectively
The role will work closely with the Director to support Homebound’s home product strategy by translating architectural and product direction into clearly defined, detailed outputs, including plan assumptions, elevation approaches, and specification decisions
The role will develop and maintain detailed product definition materials that clearly articulate market-specific offerings - including home plan mixes, layouts, elevations, features, and specifications - along with the underlying homeowner value, cost, and performance considerations
These materials will include: Recommended home plan mix and size ranges with supporting analysis; Target buyer profiles and use cases as they relate to concrete product decisions; Bed/bath counts, layouts, and functional tradeoffs; Architectural direction and exterior styles as applied to real plans and elevations; Feature and specification decisions, including cost/value considerations and consistency across markets
Assist in developing and maintaining exterior architecture master finish schedules and product standards
Help translate architectural and design intent into clear, structured documentation that can be scaled across markets
Support consistency and quality in architectural execution as Homebound expands
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to help integrate product strategy, architectural standards, and specification data into Homebound’s internal technology platform
Support structured data input, organization, and maintenance within internal systems
Help identify opportunities where better systems, tooling, or data can improve how product decisions are made and executed
Contribute to recurring market intelligence and performance reporting across Homebound’s focus markets
Analyze how Homebound’s homes are performing relative to original strategy assumptions and market conditions
Track emerging trends in buyer preferences, architecture, floor planning, and specifications
Work closely with Architecture, Design, Investment Strategy, Construction, Product, and Finance teams
Prepare clear, organized analysis and presentation materials to support strategic decision-making
Qualification
Required
1–4+ years of experience in one or more of the following: real estate, development, or investment; residential architecture, design, or construction; product strategy, market research, analytics, or operations
Baseline understanding of residential homes, including floor plans, layouts, specifications, and architectural styles (professional or academic)
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with structured data
Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into clear insights
Interest in how technology and systems can improve construction and homebuilding
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Passion for residential architecture, design, real estate, and housing trends
Curious, coachable, and excited to learn directly from senior leadership
Preferred
Experience working with databases, or product platforms
Exposure to architectural documentation, finish schedules, or specification management
Familiarity with homebuilding markets in Texas, California, Colorado, or Florida
Background or education in architecture, design, real estate, economics, analytics, or a related field
