Research Technician - Meurs Lab

Responsibilities
Perform DNA / RNA extraction, PCR , qPCR, and protein analysis
Manage workflows for multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met
Analyze experimental data and maintain detailed laboratory records
Support the Cardiac Genetics Laboratory by processing diagnostic requests and overseeing rigorous quality control (QC) to ensure result integrity
Manage inventory, procurement, and laboratory safety protocols to ensure compliance with institutional standards
As assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
Preferred
Strong foundational knowledge of molecular and cell biology, including the ability to operate highly specialized laboratory equipment
Proven ability to manage primary studies independently while effectively supporting collaborative team projects
Exceptional record-keeping and data management skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Advanced analytical skills applied to laboratory procedures and complex experimental results
Excellent oral and written communication skills paired with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
