Responsibilities

Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and plumbing systems, confirming proper functionality and performance
Inspect mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for compliance with contract requirements and industry standards
Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications
Identify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions
Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance
Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditions
Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking
Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts
Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups
Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications

Required

BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred

Two years of experience working on federal and high education managed construction projects
Three years of experience in reviewing contractor shop drawings and submittals
Knowledge of local and national codes
Knowledge of construction methods and techniques
Experience working in and around historic properties and occupied modernizations are desirable
OSHA 10-hour training certification
Certified Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
Experience working with federal Project Management Systems
