Robotics and control intern
Johnson & Johnson MedTech is a global leader in surgery and healthcare innovation. The Robotics and Controls Intern will contribute to the development of algorithms and software for robotic surgical systems, working closely with a team of roboticists on various robotic functions and software development.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and test algorithms for sophisticated robotic systems
Actively participate in algorithmic, control, mechanical design discussions and code reviews
Develop Python software for real-time, safety critical applications
Qualification
Required
In depth understanding of signal processing, real-time filtering, dynamic system modeling, and sensor/actuator interfacing for embedded platforms
Familiarity with classical machine learning techniques focusing on classification models to noisy, real-world sensor data
Excellent communication and documentation
Currently enrolled in Masters or PhD (PhD preferred) program at an accredited University or College program throughout the entire duration of the internship
Must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.8 or higher
Must be available to work the hours agreed upon with the hiring manager
Preferred
Familiarity working with large codebases and have a good understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.g. object-oriented design and data structures in UNIX environments)
Strong programming experience in Python and/or Matlab
Familiarity with C++ is expected
