Responsibilities
Responsible for the implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable SQL Server environments using AlwaysOn Availability Groups, database replication, and other high-availability features
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to design and implement SQL Server configurations that align with organizational standards and best practices
Provide expert-level support for SQL Server database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, security, and troubleshooting
Implement monitoring, indexing, and query optimization techniques tailored to each environment. Adjust strategies based on the specific characteristics and capabilities of on-premise and cloud services
Design and manage disaster recovery plans encompassing on-premise and cloud databases. Ensure high availability and minimal data loss in the event of failure
Mentor and provide guidance to junior member(s) of the DBA team, sharing best practices and technical expertise
Stay well-informed of emerging technologies and industry trends in SQL Server database administration, Azure services, and cloud computing
Configure and maintain Azure SQL Database instances, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizing performance in the cloud environment
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL Server databases, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource management
Hands-on experience with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, database replication, and other high-availability technologies
Experience with Azure SQL Database administration, including provisioning, monitoring, and performance tuning
Strong understanding of SQL Server configuration best practices and ability to implement and maintain complex database configurations
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred
Experience with TSM backup solutions is a plus
Familiarity with Manage Engine Monitoring tools is a plus
