As a Staff Data Engineer, you will define the architecture for operationalizing and integrating payer data, ensuring data quality and compliance for the CMS Stars program while collaborating with management to tackle complex architectural challenges.

Responsibilities
Author and instill Data Quality frameworks and engineering best practices across the organization
Design the framework for automated testing and CI/CD that all teams will utilize for CMS Stars data delivery
Serve as the technical lead for high-impact projects, evolving our Lakehouse architecture to support real-time payer data needs
Partner with leadership to identify technical debt and propose strategic roadmaps for mitigation
Act as a consultant to multiple teams, providing architectural oversight and solving complex performance bottlenecks
Qualification
Required
Expertise in Databricks architecture (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, etc.)
Advanced mastery of Python, PySpark, and modern software engineering patterns
Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level Data Quality, CI/CD, and unit testing frameworks
A growth mindset and a desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and influence technical direction
Preferred
Experience in high-compliance environments (HIPAA, HITRUST)
Background in large-scale data modeling for healthcare payers
