Responsibilities
Supervise, prioritize, and participate in all records storage activities at the GCPS Property Warehouse, provide for the transport of records between the GCPS Instructional Support Center and Property Warehouse facilities, and support other Property Warehouse operations
Provide supervision, performance assessment, and skills development for assigned personnel
Proactively coordinate with Records Management personnel to arrange and provide transport of GCPS records between Records Management Office and the Records Storage Area in the Property Warehouse
Provide support to create, complete, affix, maintain, synthesize, and analyze property distribution records in electronic or manual formats
Lead and participate in the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments of goods
Supervise and engage in the receipt, storage, retrieval, and disposition of new, used, and surplus property items, supplies and other materials to be transported to and from local schools and other locations, filling customer orders, assembling, and packing items as necessary
Assist in the transport of new, used, and surplus property items, supplies, and other materials to and from local schools and other locations, including loading, unloading, field assembly, and placement of items as required
Lead and complete special projects of the department, or portions thereof, and implement continuous improvement plans as directed
Execute budgeted expenditures of departmental funds as directed and assist supervisor in the development of the departmental budget
Operate GCPS vehicles safely in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, and complete associated tasks such as fueling and checking fluids
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Valid Georgia Class C Drivers License required
Valid Georgia Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) must be obtained within 6 months of hire date and maintained thereafter
High school diploma or equivalent required
Three years of experience in a distribution environment required
Knowledge of distribution processes, including warehousing and delivery
Knowledge of the GCPS records storage processes
Ability to supervise others
Effective and courteous communication, interpersonal, and problem resolution skills
Ability to safely and efficiently maneuver a straight truck, with cargo box up to 28 foot length, in areas of limited access, heavy pedestrian activity, and congested vehicle traffic
Skilled in the loading and unloading of case goods, furniture, and loose articles from delivery vehicles
Ability to transport, store, and retrieve items in a warehouse using order pickers, reach trucks, hand trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts
Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheet, database, supply chain management, asset management, and related software used within the distribution operations
Preferred
Bachelors degree in related field preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
