Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of healthcare facilities and services for licensure and certification purposes
Investigate complaints of regulatory violations in healthcare facilities
Participate in conferences, webinars, and other types of mandatory and optional training to improve knowledge and skills related to regulation of healthcare facilities
Create written documents detailing findings of non-compliance in healthcare facilities and descriptions of information gathered and final determinations related to complaint investigations
Prepare comprehensive reports and submit complete and correct packets
Participate in conferences, webinars, and other types of mandatory and optional training to improve knowledge and skills related to regulation of healthcare facilities

Required

Graduate of a college of university with a bachelor's degree
Two years of professional experience in emergency medical services, a health/human services program or two years of experience in inspection/investigative work or a combination of both or a related field
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds and in diverse settings
Ability to be flexible with work schedules, work assignments, and overtime needs
Excellent writing and speaking skills
Proficiency with use of computers, tablets, smart phones for daily tasks
Ability to travel, as needed, mostly in Kentucky
Physical ability and energy to traverse large healthcare facilities for extended periods of time during surveys or inspections

Preferred

At least 4 years of experience working in the healthcare field, preferably in a healthcare facility or service
Licensed Practical Nurse preferred
