RESEARCHER ASSOCIATE
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Researcher Associate to join their Radiology Chair Office team. This role involves conducting complex studies and analyses, designing experiments, interpreting data, and collaborating with senior researchers while mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities
Operates the cyclotron and associated systems and subsystems for routine radioisotope production
Assist in the maintenance of the cyclotron and related equipment under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager - cyclotron
Assists in the radiosynthesis of novel radiotracers
Follows site-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the facility
Understands and contributes to radiation safety protocol and procedures
Supports daily production of PET isotopes
Supports cyclotron particle accelerator operations
Performs various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed
Works safely with radioactive materials
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience required
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
Preferred
Precise measurements, Microsoft Office, Acuity with numbers, and Problem-solving skills
Knowledge of basic electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers) is preferred
