Communications Intern - Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (Summer 2026)

Kiewit is a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving the infrastructure and energy markets. They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Intern to support communication initiatives that drive alignment, engagement, and consistency across the Industrial & Water Engineering department.

Responsibilities

Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across all Industrial & Water Engineering communications
Draft, edit, and publish internal communications (emails, newsletters, intranet posts, engineering updates)
Support the creation of content that highlights project milestones, team achievements, and process improvements
Assist in gathering and organizing information from engineering leaders, technical experts, and project teams to ensure communications are clear and accurate

Required

Seeking a college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing, Political Science or a related field of study
Excellent writing, research and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
High level of motivation, willingness to learn and work independently
Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy; strong organizational skills
Proactive, professional and happy to assist others with a variety of tasks
Ideal candidates have existing knowledge of AP Style
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
