Superintendent
PrismHR is seeking a Principal DC Power Installer who is the highest technical authority responsible for the deployment and validation of DC power systems within mission-critical data center environments. This role leads complex installations, oversees high-risk retrofits, and ensures all projects meet the highest standards of safety and engineering precision.
Responsibilities
Review and validate Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings to identify risks in load calculations, cable routing, grounding, and thermal management prior to deployment
Serve as final approver for Methods of Procedure (MOPs) across Levels 1–3 technicians, with emphasis on hot‑work risk evaluation and contingency planning
Establish and maintain the organization’s installation “gold standards”, including labeling schemes, torque specifications, and standardized installation documentation
Lead complex live-site brownfield DC power retrofits, including large‑scale -48V plant replacements while maintaining full N+1 redundancy
Act as the primary technical liaison for OEMs and vendors, including Vertiv, Schneider, Eltek, and third‑party electrical contractors
Diagnose and resolve advanced system issues such as grounding loops, EMI interference, and system‑interaction failures
Lead post‑incident and near‑miss investigations, providing root‑cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action recommendations to executive leadership
Oversee final commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), validating system response during simulated utility failures to ensure full operational integrity
Expert knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1188/450
Advanced understanding of DC‑to‑AC power integration, including UPS, ATS, and generator systems
Authority on live‑work risk assessments and the establishment of safe work zones in high‑density environments
Proficient with power quality analyzers, infrared thermography, and battery impedance testing
Develop and lead training programs for Level 1–3 technicians, including hands‑on evaluations and promotion readiness assessments
Serve as Stop‑Work Authority on all sites, empowered to halt operations when safety or technical integrity is compromised
Qualification
Required
12+ years of experience in DC power or critical facilities infrastructure
5+ years leading large-scale, multi-million-dollar installation projects
Preferred
Master Electrician license
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)
DCDC (Data Center Design Consultant)
Expert-level OEM certifications
OSHA 30
CPR Certification
