Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
Determine and develop manufacturing processes, equipment requirements, tooling, and workflows to produce products in an economical and efficient manner while maintaining fit, form, function, and quality standards
Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve product designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and production efficiency
Lead and support process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
Provide clear documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support production teams
Train and communicate process changes, new equipment usage, and revised work methods to supervisors and shop personnel
Investigate, evaluate, and recommend new equipment, tooling, or technology to improve manufacturing processes, safety, capacity, and quality
Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in a timely manner and ensure effective communication of changes to all affected departments
Review and process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), evaluating the impact on safety, quality, cost, and production efficiency to ensure changes align with company objectives
Analyze current and proposed manufacturing processes to identify and implement improvements that enhance workplace safety and ergonomics
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to production issues, quality concerns, and process deviations
Partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and reduce downtime, scrap, and rework
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and production workflows
Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills
Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and shop personnel
Preferred
2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or heavy fabrication environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with Syte-Line/SolidWorks systems
