Responsibilities
Lead a centralized analytics/analytics engineering team, including senior engineers and offshore resources
Act as a player-coach: provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring and developing talent
Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and build strong career paths
Drive the design and evolution of analytics architecture supporting BI, analytics, and AI use cases
Lead BI platform migrations (e.g., legacy tools → Looker) and cloud transitions
Partner with Data Engineering on platform modernization (e.g., GCP, Azure, Databricks)
Own and scale a Looker-based self-service analytics ecosystem
Define best practices around modeling, performance, governance, and security
Enable business users through training, documentation, and workshops
Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response for analytics infrastructure
Lead incident management and cross-functional war rooms during critical data issues
Manage analytics vendors, tools, and contracts
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Business leaders to translate needs into analytics solutions
Serve as a trusted advisor on analytics strategy and tooling
Qualification
Required
7+ years in analytics, analytics engineering, or data engineering
3+ years leading teams (including senior and distributed/offshore teams)
Deep expertise with Looker (modeling, migrations, performance, security)
Strong SQL and analytics engineering fundamentals
Experience with modern data stacks (dbt, BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure/GCP)
Proven success leading BI migrations and platform improvements
Preferred
Consulting or advisory background
Experience supporting AI/ML initiatives via analytics platforms
