Business Development Intern (Summer 2026)
Battelle is dedicated to solving humanity’s most pressing challenges through science and technology. They are seeking a Business Development Intern to gain hands-on experience with the federal acquisition process, develop marketing strategies, and support business development activities within the Environment and Infrastructure organization.

Responsibilities
Develop capabilities brief highlighting aspects of Battelle internal capabilities
Maintain opportunity (Dynamics) database of opportunities and review for accuracy
Support opportunity gate reviews for senior Battelle leadership to progress opportunities from identification through pursuit and proposal
Submit requests for CDA and Teaming Agreements
Develop and execute call plans in partnership with BD professional
Use GovWin and BGov to research agency opportunities
Work with MarCom to further develop E&I web and social media presence
Supports capture management activities with research analysis
Under the direction of senior BD staff, develop and execute capture strategy for science focused opportunities
Help BD team develop Artificial Intelligence approach to market intelligence and opportunity development programs
Qualification
Required
Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a science-related major
Must have at least two years of college coursework completed by the start of the internship
Experience with data management
Strong communication & organizational skills
Basic understanding of AI tools and technologies
Must be US Citizen
Preferred
Understanding of organizations, business development, and marketing
Creative with an aptitude for technical understanding
Broad engineering or science understanding
Enjoys working with people
