Administrative Payroll Assistant

Allegheny County is seeking an Administrative Payroll Assistant to support payroll processing at the Allegheny County Airport. This role involves assisting with daily hours worked for all department employees and maintaining data confidentiality.
Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assists payroll staff with the processing of daily hours worked for all department employees and maintains the confidentiality of all data processed
Assists payroll by handling NOVAtime, Telestaff, or any other payroll/benefit time-keeping procedures set forth
Enters and authorizes travel/training requests in OnBase
Analyzes payroll, financial, and fiscal reports for the Fiscal Division by using JDE and Excel
Assists with processing purchase orders and miscellaneous vouchers
Assists with contract administration
Answers incoming phone calls
Processes incoming and outgoing mail
Maintains various filing and database systems
Performs administrative duties as requested or required by the District One Division Commander

Required

Associate degree in Business or a related field AND two (2) years of related work experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Experience with JD Edwards and Kronos/Telestaff/NOVAtime/OnBase
Knowledge of accounting, billing, and payroll processes and procedures
Knowledge of general office practices
Skill in Microsoft Office Suite
Skill in JD Edwards
Skill in Kronos
Skill in Telestaff
Skill in NOVAtime
Skill in OnBase
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to operate general office equipment (i.e., telephone, computer, copier, fax machine, etc.)
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with police officials, department staff, County officials, and vendors
Ability to accurately perform detailed work
Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
Ability to organize and maintain records and files
Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year
